About The Inspiration

Thank you Dad.

ZapCarbon has always been driven by passion – a passion inspired by my dear Dad. As an Engineer he long ago realised that we all need to “think globally and act locally".   From an early age he taught me that we can all make a positive difference to the world - if that's what we chose to.

Although he’s no longer with us, his inspiration lives on. In fact it was the driver behind my PhD in Lower Carbon Energy Systems. During this time it became clear just how much opportunity there was for making savings in all our lives. Some big things, but mostly loads of little steps - and they all come from being conscious of your consumption.

ZapCarbon is simply an attempt to share around some of this Carbon-saving passion. Seeing just how much difference you are making is a very important part of this and we have a Grand Totaliser clocking up all the savings steps taken by everyone on the site.

If you find the site useful, please do spread the opportunity on to others. Without a doubt the more that are involved, the bigger the positive effect we all make.
