I occasionally go on to YouTube to see what the latest posting on "Climate Change" are. What has surprised me in recent months is the level of climate change "denial" media there is out there.

Ever since the poor Copenhagen summit outcome, climate change deniers have relished their ascendency. Look at YouTube and you would think that it's a war with one side saying "We've got to do something, like yesterday" and the other saying "Forget it, it's a hoax - let's all keep consuming and emitting".

As a lifelong process engineer, I have long recognised the Earth as a control system that is being pushed out of kilter thanks to our actions. To me it has been absolutely obvious that more CO2 and deforestation = Major Changes for our life support systems.

When you add to this that history shows when oil / coal reserves have combusted in the distant past (eg: 55million years ago), the world's temperature and habitability changes profoundly, it's an absolute no-brainer.

However, most people are in the undecided majority, and likely to be influenced by what the media says. So it really's really concerning to see how the denial message is propagated so effectively through YouTube etc, by excitable people supporting vested interests over science.

That said, there is some excellent material out there too. Here's a good one I came across today.

Take a look - it's a great summary:
