After the resounding non-commitments from Copenhagen, most of the rest of the world is left wondering just how much of a problem Climate Change really is. If our politicians won't agree on binding targets for Carbon reduction in face of "the great threat facing mankind", where on Earth does that leave us ?

I believe it's much like any difficult problem that we face - we can chose to ignore it until it becomes an utter disaster or we can take earlier action knowing that we will suffer a bit of pain but at least deal with it.

By failing to agree at Copenhagen, politicians have gone for the former option; yet the bulk of the informed population know in their hearts that we should be going for the latter. Trouble is, which politician is going to commit himself to inflicting "pain" on his electorate ?

In the meantime the world continues to warm, often faster than computer predictions. Sea levels have risen 60% faster than 1990 predictions, and sea level is the true measure of the amount of heat absorbed by the planet.

So what do we do ? The imperative is more than ever to make sure your own "house is in order" - literally. And to spread the word to as many other households as you can. When we stop and think about it there are so many ways of improving personal Carbon efficiency.

Browse the CHANGE section and take one more step today.

And keep taking those meter readings to see how well you're doing !
